Karachi: Tall right-arm pacer Shahnawaz Dhani, who is representing Sindh in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, feels lucky to play in a televised match at the iconic National Stadium.
Shahnawaz belongs to a remote village near Larkana and was promoted from Sindh 2nd XI to the senior side for the fourth round of the tournament. He picked 3-74 in the first inning against Southern Punjab, dismissing Zain Abbas, Saif Badar, and Salman Ali Agha.
“I feel honored and lucky to play a match at National Stadium which is being broadcasted on a National TV,” said Shahnawaz in a presser after the day’s play.

Talking about his fitness, Shahnawaz said that he hadn’t done any kind of gym in his earlier days due to lack of training facilities in his area.
“I have been doing cultivation in my village since childhood along with my father and brother. 90 % of the credit for my strong physique goes to my efforts in my field,” he added.
Shahnawaz believes that four-day cricket is the last stage of getting closer to represent Pakistan and it is important to stay mentally strong and play well.
