Edgbaston receives over 60,000 ticket requests for England, Pakistan ODI

Karachi: Edgbaston has received record demand for the next year’s ODI fixture between England and Pakistan, Warwickshire County Cricket Club said.

In a statement released today, the club added that the entries received for the match via The Ticket Ballot are more than any match played at Edgbaston.

“Edgbaston has received record demand for the England v Pakistan ODI via the Ticket Ballot, with over 60,000 tickets already requested,” the club said.

“Following an unprecedented year of behind-closed-doors cricket, the Club has received record ballot entries for next year’s ODI, more than any other major match fixture including the 2019 Ashes, with a 67% increase in applicants compared to the previous best after the same number of days.” ut added

The club further revealed that 60% of the tickets have already been sold for this game. “Meanwhile, over 60% of tickets have already been sold for this match in the opening priority windows to Warwickshire Members and ticket buyers who accepted credit from our canceled 2020 Major Matches.”

The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 25,000 spectators. The ballot will close at 5 pm on Friday, December 11 and the lucky winners will be contacted the following week with details on how to buy.

It must be noted that the Green Shirts are scheduled to tour England for three ODIs and as many T20Is in July 2021.

Edgbaston will host the third and final ODI of the series on Tuesday 13 July (date subject to change).
