KARACHI: Right-handed batsman Asif Ali scored 95 runs in an intra-squad practice match to gain immense confidence ahead of the South Africa series.
While summarising his performance in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Asif said this inning boosted his morale and such practice matches help a lot to prepare for big events.
“Alhumdulillah! I managed to score runs today and they really gave me confidence ahead of the South Africa tour,” he said.
“These sort of scenario-based practice matches help us a lot to prepare for the event. I will try to continue this performance and win matches for my team,” he added.
Asif also talked a little bit about their plan and the status of the practice match. “Misbah Bhai told us to play like this is an international match. We prepared the situation just like we get in South Africa so it will help us in making a combination,” he concluded.
It must be noted here that Pakistan is scheduled to play four T20Is and three ODIs against the Proteas from April 2 to 16. They will leave for the tour on March 26. Currently, all the selected players are attending the camp at Gaddafi Stadium.
