From being the league's newest franchise to sitting at the top of the WNBA in just two seasons. What a journey for the Golden State Valkyries. Golden State has officially made history, winning its first-ever WNBA championship after defeating the Atlanta Dream in Game 7 of the Finals. And they've done it faster than any expansion team in WNBA history. Not many teams manage to build a championship-winning culture so quickly, especially as a new franchise. The Valkyries have gone from making history in their inaugural season to finishing the job in Year 2. A new franchise, a championship in just its second season, and a Finals MVP performance for the ages. Gabby Williams delivered when it mattered most, dropping 30 points in Game 7 to lead Golden State to its first-ever WNBA title. submitted by /u/New-Blueberry2670 |
