Pakistan team to undergo four rounds of COVID-19 testing before SA tour

Lahore: Pakistan men’s cricket team will undergo four rounds of COVID-19 testing before their departure for the South Africa series, ARY Sports reported.

In the first phase, players and officials will be tested for the virus today in their respective cities. The squad will then gather in Lahore on March 18 for the second phase of the COVID-19 tests.

The third and fourth rounds will take place on March 21 and 24 respectively, while the squad will depart for South Africa on March 26.

The training camp of the national squad will be held in ‘Bio-secure Bubble’. PCB has also approached the Punjab government for approval of the camp. PCB hopes to get permission for the camp.

Note, the Punjab government has suspended sports activities due to increasing cases of COVID-19 across province.
