Quaid-e-Azam Trophy rolls into fourth round tomorrow

Karachi: After completion of the exciting knock-out phase of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5, Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is once again ready to lit up domestic season 2020-21 here at National Stadium. 

The fourth round of the supreme First-Class tournament kicks off tomorrow with all six teams have played three matches each.

Points table

Southern Punjab (SP): is leading the points table with 55 points and winning two matches out of three. Table-toppers will be without their regular skipper Shan Masood who will travel with the national team to New Zealand earlier next week.

Umar Siddiq will lead SP in the fourth round’s contest against Sindh here at National Stadium which will go live at PTV Sports.

Northern: With 52 points and winning as many matches as SP, Northern is second in the points table. They will face Balochistan in the fourth round under the leadership of in-form Nauman Ali who is the highest wicket-taker in the event so far with 25 scalps.

Balochistan: Under the coaching of Faisal Iqbal, Balochistan is settled at number three on the points table with 44 points and a win in three rounds. In absence of Yasir Shah, Imran Farhat will lead the side in the fourth round, and also Balochistan will be without their in-form opener Imran Butt.

Sindh: Fourth Ranked Sindh will face SP in the fourth round under the leadership of stand-in skipper Asad Shafiq. They currently have only a win in three matches they have played so far in the tournament.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK): With 33 points and a win, KPK is fifth on the points table. They will face defending champions Central Punjab (CP) in their fourth round’s match tomorrow.

Central Punjab (CP): CP failed to get off the mark after playing three matches in the event so far. Azhar Ali’s unavailability due to national duty brought Hasan Ali into the captaincy role.

Individual performances

Nauman Ali: The left-arm spinner Nauman is the most wicket-taking bowler in the tournament so far with 25 scalps.

Hussain Talat: The left-handed batsman has scored the highest 441 runs in three matches so far in the tournament.

Sarfaraz Ahmed: With 13 dismissals from behind the stumps, Sarfaraz Ahmed is on top of the wicket-keeper’s list.

Zeeshan Malik: Zeeshan Malik is the best fielder so far in the event with most 7 catches.
