Karachi: ARY News defeated AAJ News by 88 runs in the final of the SJAS Inter-Media T20 Tournament here at the National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
ARY News batted first and posted a massive score of 251 in 20 overs. Badar Abidi smacked a brilliant half-century, scoring 67 runs. In his 32-ball inning, he hit six fours and five sixes.
His opening partner Babar Khan made 38 off 23 balls, powered by six fours. Atiq Ahmed (38 off 23 balls) and Shahid Khan (18 off 7 balls) made valuable contributions.
In reply, AAJ News couldn’t resist in front of the strong bowling attack of ARY News. They were bowled out on a score of 127.
Babar Khan, Aamir Sheikh and Adnan Khan took 2 wickets each while Usama Khalid and Daniyal Latif picked one apiece.
At the end of the match, the former chief selector of the national cricket team Iqbal Qasim distributed prizes among the players.
Note, ARY News defeated Geo News by 9 wickets in the semi-finals. They chased down the target of 141 in 10 overs while they outclassed Such TV by 10 wickets in a knock-out group contest.
