Karachi: South Africa’s cricket team captain Quinton de Kock is looking forward to touring Pakistan but is also wary of the hardships of one more bio-secure bubble.
South Africa are scheduled to arrive in mid-January and will play two Tests and three T20Is.
“There are two sides to it. I’m excited to get over there and play cricket in what will be a new challenge,” De Kock said after his side defeated Sri Lanka in the second Test at Johannesburg.

“But the off-the-field stuff is another type of challenge. Bubble life is probably going to be the hardest challenge we will face out there,” he added.
Proteas were in a bio-secure bubble since limited over series against England and again were again shifted for the two Tests against Sri Lanka.
“It’s very unsettling and a little nervy. It’s an accumulation of a lot of little things you are not used to plus the uncertainty of being caught in a lockdown, where you are then stuck in a place,” he maintained.
Note, South Africa last toured Pakistan in 2007 where they clinched the two-match Test series 1-0 and the ODI series 3-2.
