Islamabad: Pakistan’s Tennis star Aqeel Khan was impressed to see as many as 300 players took part in the ongoing 6th Kulsoom Saifullah Khan Ranking Tennis Championship.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Khan said more youngsters are taking interest in Tennis which is a good sign for this sport in Pakistan. “I was really impressed with the 128-players draw for the first time in any Tennis event in Pakistan,” he said.
“It is good to see that Tennis interest has increased in the last couple of years. Just we need to organize more events like this to nurture this talent to bring them in the international circuit,” he added.
Khan was confident that out of these youngsters taking part in the ongoing event, future Aisam-ul-Haq and Aqeel Khan will come out and represent Pakistan at the higher level. “I saw more talented youngsters than us here. I hope they work hard in the right direction to reach a higher level,” he concluded.
