City Football Schools in the UAE returns after the summer break with an expanded team of coaches and new venues across Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The coaching team is now almost 20-strong – with new additions joining from Manchester City FC after progressing through the ranks at the Etihad Campus.
New venues include The Sevens Stadium in Dubai with other facilities upgraded across the UAE.
In total, City Football Schools is now operating in six world-class venues throughout Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with three in each location.
Youngsters in Abu Dhabi are able to attend Zayed Sports City, ACTIVE Al Maryah Island and Emirates Palace, while Dubai sessions will take place at Jumeira Baccalaureate School and Guildford Grammar School Dubai, along with The Sevens Stadium.
Built on the philosophy and training programme of the Manchester City Academy, and open to boys and girls aged 3-18, City Football Schools’ coaching sessions provide youngsters with an opportunity to improve their football skills, stay healthy, make friends and have plenty of fun in a positive and friendly learning environment, under the guidance and supervision of fully qualified coaches.
Simon Hewitt, Senior Manager Football Operations MENA – Football Education, City Football Services, said: “We can’t wait to start the new season, we have all the safety measures in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai ready and we hope to see the youth of the UAE back to playing weekly sports.
“The program will offer players the chance to be coached by authentic City Football Group coaches, from both Manchester and Melbourne City. All are UEFA qualified and excited to be here in the UAE, coaching on our flagship program globally.
“Come and be part of the Manchester City family with us, have fun, play safely and make new friends.”
In the summer of 2020, City Football Schools celebrated its 10th year of football coaching in the UAE, with current Manchester City first-team players such as Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva highlighting the importance of the sessions for aspiring footballers throughout Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Since the sessions began in 2010, more than 30,000 coaching clinics have been delivered to young players across the UAE.
The new term kicks off in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Sunday 29 August.
