WWE icon calls time in emotional farewell

The 30-year career of WWE icon, The Undertaker, has officially come to an end after the legendary figure bid farewell at the Survivor Series.

Considered by many as one of the greatest performers of all-time, The Undertaker, who made his debut at Survivor Series on November 22, 1990, officially retired at the same event 30 years later. He finishes as the longest-tenured performer in the company's history.

Undertaker, whose real is Mark William Calaway, competed with virtually every famous WWE face over the years, including Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Ric Flair, Kane, Stone Cold, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

At the age of 55, he leaves the professional wrestling scene as a seven-time world champion across the WWE and WWF. He also held an unmatched and undefeated streak of 21 straight victories on wrestling's biggest stage, WrestleMania, before it was ultimately ended by Lesnar in 2014.

During the early 2000s, he depicted a biker-style character before ultimately returning as the 'Dead-Man' where he would become an icon and be recognised most famously among wrestling fans for his horror-themed personality.

Standing at 208 centimetres and weighing close to 140kgs, The Undertaker farewelled the WWE in true dead-man style.

"My time has come to let The Undertaker Rest In Peace," he said.
