
Lahore: People from different walks of life have expressed condolences on the demise of former Hockey player and coach Naveed Alam.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has postponed matches of four-team series in remembrance of Naveed. “We share the same grief as of Alam’s family,” PHF.
Former captain and coach Islahuddin Siddique termed the demise of Olympian Naveed Alam is a great loss for hockey.
“Pakistan Hockey has lost a champion player. He has great services for Pakistan Hockey. May Almighty Allah grant patience to Alam’s family,” Islahuddin said.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also expressed sadness and offered sincerest condolence to Naveed’s family and friends.
The PCB, on behalf of its fans, cricketers and officials, expresses its sadness over the passing of former hockey olympian Naveed Alam (member 1994 Hockey World Cup winning team) and offers its sincerest condolence to Naveed's family and friends.

On the other hand, Naveed’s body has been sent to his hometown Sheikhupura where his funeral prayers and burial will take place. The time of the funeral prayer will be announced later
