Balochistan, Sindh qualify for National U-23 Football Championship’s quarter-finals

ABBOTTABAD: Balochistan Zorawar beat Hazara Stars and Sindh Saints defeated Shan e Punjab to qualify for National U-23 Football Championship’s Quarter-Finals. 

In the first match on Wednesday here at Kunch Football Ground, Balochistan won by 6-2 thanks to Zohaib Ayub who struck a maiden hat-trick in the championship. The winning side was on song with 5-0 in the first half.

Zohaib scored three goals (2nd minute, 20th minute and 33rd minute), Shaiq Dost scored two goals (5th & 30th minute).

In the second half, Hazara scored two goals, the first one by Sardar Abbas in the 52nd minute and the second by Umer Gul who made the most of the penalty corner and netted the ball in the 60th minute.

The second match of the day was clean swept 1-0 by Sindh against Punjab. Mohammad Uzair scored the lone goal for Sindh in the 74th minute.

Other Quarter-Finalists

Kashmir Kings, Khyber Eagles, Punjab Warriors. The quarter-final phase will start on July 10. Semi-finals will be played on July 13 and 14, and the 3rd position match will be held on July 15. The final match of the event will be staged on July 16.
