Ramiz says Pakistan have ‘advantage’ after COVID-19 outbreak in England camp

Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja thinks that Green Shirts have now advantage over Pakistan after the COVID-19 outbreak in England camp just two days before the ODI series.

Three members of the initial playing group and four members of the management staff tested positive in Bristol and in the midst of chaos, ECB announced new squad which will be led by Ben Stokes.

“Pakistan team has gotten advantage and they should benefit from the negativity in England’s dressing room. Pakistan has got some breathing space because of this tragedy, but it remains to be seen how they will play,” he said on his Youtube channel.

Ramiz lamented England for being so desperate over the COVID-19 situation and they are only themselves to blame for this.

“England players have tested positive, which is not a good thing. But it can bring negativity into the dressing room and you need to reboot your combination. They have brought Ben Stokes back, so you can understand their desperation.”

“Their attitude towards Covid-19 was very bizarre. They felt like they were in jail and were not ready to follow protocols like wearing masks and social distancing, and this desperation has resulted in their team grabbing negative headlines,” he added.

“Whether England will bounce bank out of this situation or will Pakistan take advantage,” he concluded.
