Wasim Khan seeks extension in his tenure as PCB’s CEO

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Chief Executive Wasim Khan said they have just gripped progress towards putting the country’s cricket on right track.

Speaking to reporters, Khan said he definitely wants to carry on as PCB’s CEO following the progressive work he has done so far.

“I definitely want to carry on in the role as our work has just started. I’m enjoying my stay here and we have made progress. The first few months were difficult because of the different culture and the system in Pakistan but things are progressing now,” he reiterated.

The CEO said the year 2021 is very important for cricket in Pakistan as teams like South Africa and England will tour the country. “Next few months are too crucial for us as South Africa is coming and England is lined up to tour Pakistan next year in October. We hope to bring more high-profile teams next year,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khan also shared that the new chief selector and chairman of the cricket committee will be announced by next Monday. “We are in talks with a couple of names and we will announce them by next Monday. The selection committee will work as per the current model,” he concluded.
