Queensland will be without star hooker Harry Grant for Origin III after his club Melbourne Storm ruled him out of selection due to injury.
The Maroons were hopeful of salvaging a pride-restoring victory after NSW wrapped up the 2021 State of Origin series with their Game Two win.
However Queensland's plans took a blow with news that Grant, who did not play since Game One as a bench utility, will officially miss Game Three.
"After medical examination on his hamstring this morning, we have informed the QRL that Harry Grant is unavailable for State of Origin selection for Game Three," the Storm tweeted.
