SSCG to meet Pakistan Airforce in National Challenge Cup’s Quarter-final

Lahore: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) outclassed Pakistan Navy by 4-0 while Pakistan Airforce (PAF) beat SA Farms 2-1 at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore on Sunday to book their spots in the 2020 National Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

SSGC took a lead in the 28th minute after Navy’s Farhanullah was shown a Red Card for deliberately handling the ball in the box. Habib-ur-Rehman converted the following penalty.

The second goal also came from the penalty spot, with Zain-ul-Abideen scoring in the 59th minute this time. Mohammad Tahir scored the third in the 66th minute while Obaid made it 4-0 in the 79th minute.

PAF looked dominant from the start against SA Farms in the last pre-quarterfinal. Samad Khan scored the first goal while Faisal doubled the lead in the 86th before SA Farms’ Ahmed Raza netted the only goal in the 89th minute.

With the Round-of-16 now concluded, the quarter-finals line-up is complete. The army will take on KRL and Wapda to face SA Gardens in the first two quarter-finals on Monday. On Tuesday, HEC will clash against KPT while SSGC will take on Pakistan Airforce.
