Babar Azam congratulates New Zealand on winning ICC WTC Final

Karachi: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has congratulated New Zealand on winning the inaugural ICC WTC Final over India at The Rose Bowl in Southampton.

The Black Caps defeated India by eight wickets on Day 6 (Reserve Day) of the one-off Test. They chased down the target of 139 courtesy of a brilliant 96-run stand between Ross Taylor and skipper Kane Williamson.

Babar also appreciated India for putting up a great fight throughout the championship. “Congratulations to New Zealand on this remarkable feat. WTC is indeed a premier contest and you can’t succeed without perseverance and dedication,” Babar tweeted.

“Team India also put up a great show throughout the tournament. Awesome contest,” he added.
