Southampton: New Zealand have won the inaugural ICC World Test Championship final as they defeated India by eight wickets at The Rose Bowl.
The Blackcaps chased down the target of 139 in 45.5 overs. Skipper Kane Williamson and veteran Ross Taylor paired for the third wicket and guided New Zealand to win.

The reliable duo added 96 runs after they lost both openers on the score of 44. Williamson made 52* while Taylor scored 47*.
Earlier, India were bowled out for 170 in their second innings. Tim Southee bagged 4/48 while Trent Boult claimed 3/39. Kyle Jamieson picked two, including a key wicket of India’s skipper Virat Kohli while Neil Wagner took one. For India, wicketkeeper-batter Risabh Pant scored 41 while Rohit Sharma made 30.
