Danish’s quick 45 helps Kings post 176-6 against Gladiators

ABU DHABI: Danish Aziz smashed 45 off 13 balls which helped Karachi Kings post 176-6 in 20 overs against Quetta Gladiators in their last group match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6.

Danish came into bat after Kings were suffering at 121-5 in 16.5 overs and showed what he was capable of. He struck 33 runs in the second last over of Jack Wildermuth, taking his boundaries tally to two fours and five sixes.

After deciding to bat first, the Kings were off to a slowish start in a must-win game, scoring 42 without any loss in powerplay. Sharjeel Khan scored run-a-ball 22 and Babar Azam made 13 off 15 balls in the powerplay.

Later on, the batters accelerated their innings but Gladiators’ bowler bowled with contained line and length. Abdul Nasir bagged Babar on the first ball of the 10th over, reducing Kings to 71-1.

It was Arish Ali then who rattled the opposition completely, bagging back-to-back four wickets. He removed Sharjeel (45), Martin Guptill (5), Najibullah Zadran (12), and Imad Wasim (3) to leave Kings tattering at 121-5.

Danish and Chadwick Walton joined hands to score 53 runs for the sixth wicket. Walton remained not out for 34 off 27 including two boundaries and two sixes.

Arish bagged four while Nasir and Khurram Shahzad took a wicket each for Gladiators.
