Lahore: Former Test cricketer chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said senior players will play an important role for Pakistan against New Zealand.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Inzamam said youngsters in the squad are a positive move but relying completely on them can hurt Pakistan.
“In New Zealand, experience comes in handy. It will be difficult to win if we play young players,” he was quoted saying.
Inzamam said players suffered through a difficult phase at the start due to their mistakes but now they will have to be careful throughout.
“Players violated COVID-19 SoPs which put them in quarantine for 14 days. I know it wasn’t easy for them to stay in quarantine. And now, they need to be careful ahead,” he concluded.
