Queenstown: Young batsman Haider Ali shared how difficult was it for the whole team to spend 14 days in quarantine upon their arrival in New Zealand with strict protocols.
Speaking to reporters via virtual conference, Haider said the team has less time to train due to quarantine but they will try to prepare themselves in the given time.
“Quarantine period was tough for us here but everything is fine now. We did light training in our rooms during that period but it wasn’t enough for us to be ready for the games. Since we are out now in the ground, we will try to prepare ourselves according to the time and strength,” he said.

The youngster said the team management kept on giving confidence to them throughout and they are ready to take New Zealand in the first T20I on December 18. “Team management including Misbah Bhai, Younis Bhai, and Waqar Bhai helped us a lot during these tough times,” he said.
“Now, they are giving us confidence for the games and advised all players to forget what happened during the last few days and bring complete focus on our matches. We are training here and team management will give players individual roles and I hope we will be able to win against New Zealand,” he maintained.
“We did batting and bowling sessions on the green pitch to get ready for the same condition we will have in our game. Usually, in England and New Zealand, we get similar conditions. I made my debut in England so I think I will be able to continue my performance here,” he concluded.
