Afridi congratulates Gladiators for qualifying into LPL’s Playoffs

Karachi: Shahid Afridi congratulated his team Galle Gladiators for qualifying into Lanka Premier League (LPL)’s Playoffs. 

Taking to Twitter after Gladiators defeated Kandy Tuskers by nine wickets to advance to the knock-out stage, Afridi praised his team and especially highlighted Gunathilaka’s match-winning performance.

“Brilliant performance by Gunathilaka Congratulations to my team Galle for reaching the semi-finals. Gunathilaka can be the next Sangakkara for SL, a great talent indeed,” wrote Afridi who left the tournament halfway due to personal issues.

It must be noted here that Gladiators lost five matches in a row at the start which reduced their chances to play knock-out stage. But, the Pakistani-owned franchise made their comeback and rolled into the next round.
