The Eels will be sweating on scans to hooker Reed Mahoney, who went down with a shoulder injury during Parramatta's 40-4 thrashing over Newcastle today.
Mahoney was left clutching at his left shoulder and was helped off the field late in the second half after coming off worse for wear when he attempted to tackle Knights debutant Jake Clifford.
Eels coach Brad Arthur confirmed after the match that Mahoney suffered a shoulder subluxation, with the club now expecting the hooker to "miss a couple of games".
"I don't think it's too bad," Arthur told reporters.
"He subluxed his shoulder, so he might miss a couple of games.
"He still has to have scans tomorrow, but at this stage I reckon maybe a couple of games."
Mahoney had been named in Maroons coach Paul Green's squad for the Origin opener but was sent home 24 hours later, with first-choice rake Harry Grant expected to be fit for the Wednesday clash.
Meanwhile, there were fears at one stage today for star Eels playmaker Mitchell Moses, who left the field midway through the second half.
The Eels coach revealed the club had opted to take a safe approach with Moses, who needed a break after his calf tightened up.
"There were 25 minutes to go and we just scored, so it was a good opportunity to let some others step in," Arthur said.
"He's fine. We just didn't want to take any risks."
