ISRAEL Folau's latest attempt to make a comeback to Aussie rugby league has infuriated his French club Catalans.
Folau is attempting an NRL comeback via a team on the Gold Coast, Southport Tigers.
Folau's lawyers, backed by businessman Clive Palmer, have reportedly taken out a Supreme Court injunction against the Queensland Rugby League for blocking his bid to play on the Gold Coast.
The controversial cross-code star is set to claim that the QRL is discriminating against him due to his religious views.
But Folau seems to have conveniently forgotten that he is still under contract to Catalans, having walked out on the club several months ago.
Folau promised Catalans officials he would return to the French club – who have been greeted by a stony silence.
"For a guy who's quite outspoken, why does he not speak to Catalans?," a spokesman for the club told Wide World of Sports.
"He is contracted to us until the end of November and is registered with the Rugby Football League until that time too.
"We have done everything we can to help Israel Folau when he asked to return home for family health issues and we are still keen on him returning to play out the rest of his contract.
"It was a surprise to see him on television wearing another club's shirt but he cannot play for another team until his registration is released or it expires."
