The Socceroos have unearthed a new star in 24-year-old Bundesliga gun Ajdin Hrustic in their comfortable 3-0 World Cup Qualifier win over Kuwait.
Hrustic was front and centre for Australia as they moved five-points clear of Group B, winning a penalty and scoring a stunner of a free-kick for his maiden international goal.
The Eintracht Frankfurt star made it look easy as he curled a looping left-footer inside the top corner, kissing the inside of the post to leave keeper Sulaiman Abdulghafoor bamboozled.
"He's as exciting a player I've seen for Australia for a long long time," Aussie football great Mark Bosnich said.
Australian Premier League winner Robbie Slater added: " He's an exciting prospect for Australia, we're going to certainly be seeing a lot more of him, a brilliant free-kick."
The win sees the Socceroos make off with their fifth on the trot, the first time in a decade, marking a major milestone for coach Graham Arnold's reign.
MORE TO COME.
