Youtube star set to face former UFC champ

With his brother set to face Floyd Mayweather this weekend, Jake Paul has reportedly signed a deal for his next fight.

According to The Athletic, the YouTube star and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley have agreed to a deal for a boxing match. Paul, who was recently roughed up for taking Mayweather's hat in Miami, is coming off a first-round knockout win against Ben Askren, another former UFC fighter. Askren and Woodley wrestled together in college, and are close friends.

Like Askren, Woodley is a former wrestling champion without much boxing experience and has recently been released by the UFC. Although he is definitely more of a striking threat than Askren.

Woodley has one-punch power with seven of his 19 wins in MMA came via knockout.

Paul currently holds a record of 3-0 in his career, with wins against a former UFC fighter, a former NBA player and a YouTuber, as well as an exhibition win over another YouTuber.

Woodley was the UFC's welterweight champ with multiple title defences to his name, but he lost his belt to current champ Kamaru Usman in March 2019.

Woodley has been on a losing streak since, with consecutive losses to Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington and Vicente Luque.

The fight will likely be the first in Paul's new deal with Showtime Boxing, which signed Paul to a multi-fight deal earlier this month.
