Karachi: Pakistan’s former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed believes that Pakistan can win the upcoming T20 World Cup if they keep working on their weaknesses.
In an exclusive interview with ARY News, the 34-years-old cricketer highly praised Pakistan’s white-ball side that notched consecutive shorter format series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.
“Pakistan performed really well against South Africa in recently concluded shorter format series. It showed glimpses of improvement in the team but they need to work more to gain more strength,” he highlighted.
“I think Pakistan can definitely win the upcoming T20 World Cup if they keep working on their weaknesses. If they overcome their weaknesses, they can perform strongly in the mega event,” he asserted.
Moreover, Sarfaraz also named the other three favorites to win the multi-nation tournament. “Pakistan is on top of the list for me to win World Cup. Others are India, New Zealand, and England,” he shared.

Quetta Gladiators’ captain revealed his trump cards for the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six. Those players include Faf du Plessis, Andre Russell, Mohammad Hasnain, and Azam Khan.
“Du Plessis has been top of his form recently and can play a major role in our success. Andre Russell has been a great addition to our side, who can easily make the game one-sided,” he said.
“Among locals, Hasnain is in great form as he was leading wicket-taker in the Zimbabwe series. Nawaz’s record in the UAE has been great while Azam is working hard on his fitness and improving his batting. These players can be beneficial for us,” he added.
