Moses signs monster new multi-year contract

Parramatta has confirmed the re-signing of both halfback Mitchell Moses and back-rower Ryan Matterson.

Moses has agreed to an extended deal, that will see him remain at the Eels until at least 2024, while Matterson has exercised his option for the 2022 season.

Parramatta's general manager of football, Mark O'Neill, says it's great news for the club.

"I would like to congratulate Mitch on his new deal which is exciting news for everyone at the club, in particular our members and fans," he said.

"Mitch is an integral part of the team, he is in career best form and has developed not only as a player but as a leader as well. We are excited that Mitch will continue to lead our squad in the coming years as we aim for a premiership.

"Ryan is also part of our player leadership group, has played over 100 NRL matches and is adding great value both on and off the field."

The re-signing of both Moses and Matterson means the Eels have now locked up the majority of their 2021 side for next season, with Bryce Cartright, Blake Ferguson and Tom Opacic the highest-profile players who are yet to sign new deals.

Moses joined the Eels midway through the 2017 season, winning the club's player of the year award in 2019, as well as the Dally M halfback of the year.

The Eels are currently third on the ladder, ahead of their match against Souths at Stadium Australia tomorrow night.
