PSL 6: PCB tightens COVID-19 protocols for players, officials

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has put strict COVID-19 protocols in place for local players and officials for the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six, ARY News reported.

According to details, participants reporting from other cities in Lahore and Karachi were barred from coming on public transport.

Players are barred from traveling in their personal vehicles with the driver. The player is only allowed to drive his own car to reach the hotel.

Players will be brought to hotels on PCB vehicles from all cities where the drivers were tested for COVID-19.

Vehicles carrying players, coaches and support staff will not be allowed to stop anywhere along the way.

Meanwhile, participants have started sending their first COVID-19 test reports to the franchises and they have been informed regarding new COVID-19 protocols.

Participants will be given regular COVID-19 protocols and if caught violating, they would be immediately separated from the team.

Players will enter bio-secure bubble on May 24 after which their second COVID-19 Test will be conducted. Teams will depart for Abu Dhabi via chartered plane on May 26. Players/staff will leave from Karachi at 8:30 am and from Lahore at 9:15 am.

Remember, PSL 6 remainder has been moved to Abu Dhabi. The teams have been finalized, however, the schedule is yet to be announced.
