Sajid Khan helps KPK take control of CP in QeA Trophy’s Fourth Round

Karachi: Sajid Khan bagged 8 wickets to help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) take control of Central Punjab (CP) in the Fourth Round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020-21 at UBL Sports Complex. 

The young right-arm off-break bowler bagged four wickets so far in the second inning to help KPK restrict CP to 65-5. Besides Sajid, Imran Khan took three wickets to further dent CP who is already on last at the points table.

Saad Naseem (14*) and Saad Naseem (3*) will resume CP’s inning at 65-5 tomorrow with 13 runs behind KPK.

Earlier, KPK took 78-runs lead over CP after scoring 236 for the loss of all wickets in reply of 158-10. Khalid Usman scored 92 runs off 141 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and two sixes. Kamran Ghulam made 43 laced with six boundaries and a six.

For CP, Waqas Maqsood and Bilal Asif bagged three wickets each.

At NBP Sports Complex, Balochistan’s bowlers held Northern tight with restricting them to 196-6 on Day 3 of the Fourth Round. While batting first, Balochistan posted 418 runs with Azeem Ghumman scoring highest 95 runs off 233 balls with the help of 8 boundaries.

In reply, Northern were off to a shaky start but Faizan Riaz supported his team by scoring 78 runs with the help of 12 boundaries and a six. Mohammad Nawaz remained not-out for 39 and will resume Northern’s inning tomorrow with 222 runs behind Balochistan.

Taj Wali and Kashif Bhatti took two wickets each for Balochistan.

On the other hand, Asad Shafiq (141) and Omair Bin Yousuf (153) laid down a solid foundation for Sindh against Southern Punjab (SP). While batting first, Sindh posted 382-10 in the first turn.

In return, SP managed to close Day 2 at 148-2 with Zain Abbas (75*) and Saif Badar (27*) at the crease. Imran Rafiq made 42 runs. SP are 235 runs behind.

Tabish Khan and Hasan Mohsin took two scalps each.
