The Indian Premier League has reportedly been suspended amid the country's devastating COVID toll.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the decision tonight to indefinitely suspend the league after a host of players tested positive to the virus.
Sunrisers Hyderabad keeper Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for COVID-19 today, while Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and a member of the travel support staff both tested positive.
More than 30 Australians remain at the IPL, including players, commentators and support staff, with Pat Cummins and Ben Cutting now in isolation, following confirmation two of their Kolkata Knight Riders teammates have tested positive to the virus.
Fierce debate has continued for weeks about the continuation of the IPL in India, as the country's COVID-19 situation continues to spiral out of control.
