The Sydney Roosters' injury crisis has hit breaking point with the loss of Brett Morris and powerhouse forward Lindsay Collins marring a 38-4 clinic in Newcastle.
What was shaping to be a run-of-the-mill masterclass from the Tricolours quickly turned into a horror show as Collins and Morris both went down within minutes of the final whistle with serious knee injuries.
Collins was tripped up in an awkward challenge, remaining on the turf for some time before being helped off the field by two trainers.
But it's Morris' incident that has raised concern of a career-ending injury, as he was heard "screaming in agony" after appearing to jar his knee as he was tackled into touch.
The winger was seen writhing on the ground, clutching at his leg while play stopped for some time, before an apparent absence of a medicab saw the Chook hobble the perimeter of the field to get into the sheds for treatment.
It was later revealed that Morris had reportedly rejected a medicab, instead opting to courageously see himself from the field, potentially for the last time.

While the Roosters' overflowing casualty ward will undoubtedly have disastrous consequences for their title hopes, it was a much more positive story for youngster Sam Walker who had another stellar outing in his fifth NRL appearance.
The 18-year-old played beyond his years to a bag club record of five try-assists and score one of his own, to have the Knights bamboozled.
