Live: Imran, Azhar keep Pakistan steady at Lunch on Day 2

Harare: Pakistani batters continued to dominate Zimbabwean bowlers on Day two of the first Test at Harare Sports Club.

The visitors managed to score 59 runs in the first session and were 162/1 at Lunch. Imran Butt is batting firmly at unbeaten 71 while veteran Azhar Ali stands at 23*.

Earlier, Pakistan started to proceeding cautiously and scored only 13 runs in the first 16 overs of the day, however, they improved the run-rate in the latter part of the session, scoring 46 in the next 16.

Zimbabwe had their first breakthrough when set batter Abid Ali edge one to skipper Brendan Taylor off Tendai Chisoro in the 45th over.

Later, Imran was rewarded for his resistance and posted his first Test fifty. He would look to reach his maiden Test ton as he is just 30 runs away.

Note, Pakistan dismissed Zimbabwe for 176 yesterday courtesy of Shaheen Shah and Hasan Ali, who claimed four wickets each.
