Williamson joins Kohli at No.2 in ICC Test rankings

Karachi: Williamson’s career-best score of 251 in the first Test against West Indies at Seddon Park helped him jump up two places to join Indian skipper Virat Kohli at No.2 in the ICC Test Rankings for batsmen.

With his recent performance, he gained 74 points, moving from 812 to 886 while his country-man Tom Latham achieved his career-best points tally of 733 and tenth place on the table as he made 86 in the first innings.

West Indies’ Jermaine Blackwood has reached to 41st spot as he scored his second Test ton in the second innings.

In bowlers’ rankings, Neil Wagner has equaled his career-best 2nd spot after taking six wickets in the match, edging him ahead of England’s Stuart Broad back into second place.

Windies’ captain Jason Holder has slipped from fifth to seventh having not taken any wickets. Holder has also lost the top spot in the all-rounders’ table. He was top by one point from England’s Ben Stokes, but Stokes now has a twelve-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has retained his fifth spot among batsmen with 797 points.
