Fighter puts up late contender for KO of the year

Jordan Leavitt has delivered one of the most "violent" knockouts seen in the UFC in recent memory after downing Matt Wiman with a sickening slam.

It took Leavitt just 30 seconds to send the fight world into meltdown when he managed to pick up Wiman off an early grapple and slam him back down into the canvas.

Wiman's head wore the brunt of the blow, as he was instantly knocked out cold.

Thankfully the ref was quick to react and jumped in to stop the fight, as Wiman lay motionless for some time.

"As violent a finish as we've seen in the Octagon in recent times," Paul Felder said in commentary after the finish.

Following the theatrics, Leavitt was glad to have secure another win.

"That's pretty brutal and it was hard to think about, but it's the fight game, it happens and I'm happy for the win. I just wish I didn't hurt somebody, I guess," he said.
