
Karachi: Pakistan’s weightlifter Talha Talib has bagged a bronze medal in snatch in the Asian Weightlifting Championship.
The Gujranwala-based Talha lifted 148kg weight in snatch in the 67-kilogram weight category to win bronze in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent. It is his first medal in the Asian Championship. This is also a new national record.

Meanwhile, Talha was unable to win in clean and jerk and total as he finished fourth with 167kg in clean and jerk and ended fifth with a total of 315kg. China bagged gold and silver in total with the bronze going to Uzbekistan.
It must be noted that Talha is four time National Champions. He bagged a gold medal in 2019 Saaf Games while he won a bronze medal in 2018 Commonwealth games.
