History was made on Saturday night with the Australian national anthem including a rendition performed in Indigenous language prior to the Wallabies' clash with Argentina.
Olivia Fox, a young singer out of the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, performed the anthem in Eora language and then in English in front of fans at Bankwest Stadium.
Today's milestone for Australian sport marks the first time ever a joint-language version of Advance Australia Fair has been performed prior to an international event. The Wallabies were also wearing their indigenous jerseys for the occasion.
The performance also proved a masterpiece for fans with social media reacting positively to the joint-language version.
Nine News sports reporter Jelisa Apps was among a host of Australian media figures congratulating Rugby Australia for the performance as Wallabies players made the effort to sing the Eora rendition following multiple practice sessions held earlier in the week.
