Blank Gameweek 29 in Fantasy Premier League was always going to be a low-scoring affair with only four fixtures yielding an average tally of just 25 points.
The international break that followed has naturally left managers eagerly anticipating GW30 in a bid to get some much-needed points under their belts.
There will be plenty of opportunities to score heavily as well with attractive fixtures including Chelsea and Manchester United’s home games against West Brom and Brighton respectively.
Leeds also enjoy an inviting encounter at home to a struggling Sheffield United, while Tottenham will be equally optimistic about their trip to Newcastle.
This round also features a couple of big clashes though with Manchester City and Liverpool paying visits to Leicester City and Arsenal.
Here are a few tips to help guide you through GW30.
CAPTAIN – HARRY KANE | TOTTENHAM | 11.6M
As if we needed further proof of Harry Kane’s current form, he managed to add two more goals to his impressive international record over the two games he featured in during the international break.
His 17 goals and 13 assists this season has solidified his status as an FPL big-hitter. He has the best minutes-per-goal-involvement ratio this term as well [79].
Kane’s recent form in the league is also encouraging. Four goals and two assists in the last four GWs makes for good reading, while he’s also been afforded five big chances and 10 shots from inside the box in that time.
The fixture is the biggest selling point, though, with Newcastle in disarray and having conceded 24 goals so far in 2021 – only Southampton have leaked more.
The best strikers are merciless and Kane has been all-business against teams in the bottom half of the table this season, bagging 11 goals and nine assists in 14 matches.
ALTERNATIVE
BRUNO FERNANDES (11.5m) continues to be the centrepiece of United’s attack and is always on the verge of a big haul. He has created the most chances [82] and big chances [17] this season.
BOLD CHOICE
RAPHINHA (5.7m) is undoubtedly the chief playmaker for an effervescent Leeds. No one has more than his 11 attempted assists in the last four GWs and he faces a vulnerable Sheffield United defence.
ONE TO GET
DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN | EVERTON | 7.6M
Getting back to his best since his return from injury, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has seen four big chances in the last four GWs. He got back to scoring ways against Burnley in GW28 and even impressed with England on international duty, bagging a brace. Crystal Palace have proved to be weak against aerial assaults and that’s where the Everton striker is at his best.
ONE TO AVOID
LEWIS DUNK | BRIGHTON | 5.2M
The Brighton defence has impressed of late and Lewis Dunk has been at the forefront, but their goal is bound to come under more pressure in the coming weeks. A trip to Old Trafford this weekend is the first of three tough fixtures in a row before a difficult end to the season.
BARGAIN BUY
ANTONIO RUDIGER | CHELSEA | 4.7M
Antonio Rudiger has proved to be one of the regulars in a stubborn Chelsea defence under Thomas Tuchel. The Blues are good value for consistent points and their Germany centre-back represents a cheap way into their back-line that’s kept five clean sheets in the last six games.
