Karachi: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has a golden chance to attain the No.1 spot in ICC ODI rankings in the upcoming South Africa series.
India’s captain Virat Kohli currently holds the top spot with 857 points while Babar stands at second with 837 points. Babar can pass Kohli if he manages to perform well in three ODIs against Proteas, starting from April 2.
Kohli lost 11 rating points after scores of 66 and 7 runs in the last two ODIs against England in Pune.
On the other hand, India’s Rohit Sharma also lost 11 rating points after failing to score a fifty against England. England’s Jonny Bairstow has retained seventh place after touching a career-high 796 rating points.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Devon Conway has attained a career-best fourth position in the T20I Player Rankings just after 13 T20I matches, thanks to his performances against Bangladesh.
