Brisbane Lions hardman Mitch Robinson and Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios have formed an unlikely bromance after the pair met up for a gaming session.
If there's one thing AFL fans know about Robinson, he's not afraid to speak his mind. The Lions midfielder earlier this year sent footy fans into a meltdown when he branded Richmond star forward Tom Lynch a "w—er" who "went to a good team to get success" on social media.
As is the case with Kyrgios. The Aussie star in recent times has made no secret of his disgust at a host of fellow tennis players, pulling the likes of Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev into line when they found themselves in hot water throughout the COVID-19 pandemic due to social distancing breaches.
But after the pair met up for a Call of Duty session they immediately formed a bromance, according to Robinson, who revealed he was taken back when he realised Kyrgios wasn't the "arrogant bloke" he had been made out to be.
"With everything reported, I thought he was going to be an arrogant bloke and hard to talk to but we've really hit it off," Robinson told the Courier Mail.
"We talk almost every second day now."
Not only do they continue to talk after their gaming session but they're set to hit it off on the tennis court when Robinson makes his way down to Canberra where Kyrgios has been bunkered down during the COVID-19 shutdown.
"I've already hit him up to say I'm coming down to Canberra to play some tennis," he added.
