Gun Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams executed the precision of a surgeon to thread a miraculous goal in the Magpies' 21-point victory over Carlton tonight.
Crafty Blue Michael Gibbons had already bagged a pair of potential goal-of-the-year contenders in the MCG match when Adams stood up for a possible nomination of his own early in the third term.
Collingwood's reigning best and fairest pounced on a loose ball at a stoppage just inside the boundary in the left-forward pocket and reeled off a grubber that somehow dribbled through for a goal.

"Adams, boundary line, no way! No way!" Fox Footy commentator James Brayshaw said.
The goal umpire deemed it a goal but sent it to the ARC because he was uncertain if the ball had brushed a post.
And after a long series of replays, Adams' incredible effort remained a goal because the ARC decided there was insufficient evidence to overturn the call.
"Wonderful goal from Taylor Adams," Brayshaw said.
"We've seen a couple of absolute crackers tonight but that will take some beating."
Hamish McLachlan relived the moment with Essendon great Jobe Watson at three-quarter time.
"The second of these freakish goals at the city end," McLachlan said.
"He knew what he wanted to do. I don't think he thought he would do it."
