KARACHI: England’s former Test cricketer Kevin Pietersen expressed hope for the revival of bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan after Indian PM Narendra Modi tweeted for Pakistani PM Imran Khan.
On March 20, Modi sent best wishes to PM Khan after he was tested COVID-19 positive. “Best wishes to Prime Minister Imran Khan for a speedy recovery from COVID-19,” he wrote.

Taking to Twitter, Pietersen reacted to this development and wrote, “This tweet by Narendra Modi to Imran Khan made me smile! It would be a dream come true, to see India & Pak reunited and engaging both on & off the field! We all need each other & this year has shown us that! Let’s all hope a healthy friendship is on its way!”

It must be noted here that reports in Pakistani media claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been told to be prepared for the PakvsInd bilateral series maybe later this year.
Earlier, Indian media also reported that the PakvsInd bilateral series is on cards and can take place sometime this year at a neutral venue.
Remember, Pakistan and India last played a bilateral series in 2012-13. Since then, they only faced each other in ICC events and Asia Cup.
