New Zealand is facing an early test of its depth, with confirmation halfback Chanel Harris-Tavita will be out for up to three months with a stress fracture in his foot.
Scans have confirmed the injury, which the 22-year-old suffered during the 20-16 loss to Newcastle.
Warriors consultant Phil Gould confirmed the playmaker remained on the field for the final 15 minutes of the match with the injury.
A statement from the Warriors says Harris-Tavita will have surgery today.
The news continues a horror period for the club, who last week lost centre Euan Aitken for more than two months, after he suffered an ankle injury.
Prop Jamaye Taunoa-Brown was suspended for three weeks following the Newcastle match, after he pleaded guilty to a crusher tackle.

The Warriors are expected to bring in Sean O'Sullivan to fill the number seven spot. O'Sullivan joined the club this year, having made his debut for the Roosters in 2018. That was his only match for the Tricolours, before joining Brisbane for the 2019 and 2020 seasons, where he had limited opportunities.
The Warriors started the season with an impressive 19-6 win over Gold Coast, before their loss to Newcastle on Friday.
They face Canberra and the Roosters in the next two weeks.
