Shadab, Babar aim to make full use of first practice match

Lahore: Pakistan captain Babar Azam and his deputy Shadab Khan want players to make full use of the first intra-squad practice match here at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Both captains believe that the practice matches will provide Green Shirts enough practice before flying to South Africa for three ODIs, part of the ICC World Cup Super League.

“We [Pakistan] haven’t played a fifty-over game for quite some time now, this match will help our body to get used to the fifth-over game,” said Shadab.

“The weather is a bit cloudy which might challenge batsmen and you never know of getting the same conditions in South Africa,” Babar expressed.

Note, Pakistan’s white-ball squad will play second practice match on March 24. The team will fly to Africa on March 26.

Babar XI: Imam-ul-Haq, Haider Ali, Babar Azam (C), M Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Faheem Ashraf, Asif Ali, Usman Qadir, M Imran, Haris Rauf, M Hasnain, Khushdil Shah, Zahid Mehmood, Naseem Shah
