Flanagan among 20 players picked in Prime Minister's XIII squad

Rabbitohs enforcer Keaon Koloamatangi, Titans livewire Jayden Campbell and Dragons halfback Kyle Flanagan were on Monday among 20 players picked in an Australian men's Prime Minister's XIII squad.

Men's coach Kevin Walters and women's coach Jess Skinner will oversee squads of 20 in matches against Prime Minister's XIII teams from Papua New Guinea, to be played in Port Moresby next Sunday.

Two players — Koloamatangi and brilliant Canberra five-eighth Ethan Strange — earned selection on Monday in both the Australian men's PM's XIII squad and the Kangaroos squad set to tour England for the Ashes.

Flanagan, who endured another season at the Dragons this year under fierce scrutiny, has been named in the extended PM's XIII squad.

Koloamatangi will captain the PM's XIII team.

"The squad has a really strong mix of experienced representative players and some of the best young talent that we saw showcased in the NRL this season," Walters said.

"There is a lot of strike across the park with the likes of Ethan Strange, Jye Gray, Bradman Best and Jason Saab, and some real power and mobility up front, led by Keaon Koloamatangi, who is getting the opportunity to captain the side.

"I'm excited to get to work with the team this week and put on a great display in Port Moresby on Sunday."

The Australian women's team will be co-captained by Cronulla dummy-half Quincy Dodd and Canberra prop Sophie Holyman.

Among the notable selections for the women's team are Titans gun Jamie Chapman and Cowboys halfback Kirra Dibb.

"We have some players in this squad that have experienced this fixture previously, and having them back in the team will be invaluable for some of the exciting young talent we've selected to get a taste of international rugby league," Skinner said.

Quincy Dodd throws a pass in Cronulla colours.

"The players that are involved in this game will have the opportunity of a lifetime coming together to play and experience a country that has a passion for rugby league like no other.

"For the young players we have, it's a chance to put their hand up for Jillaroos honours, and I know that they are going to bring a lot of energy and excitement to this contest."
