‘Disappointed on non-support by GB government for Youth fight’ Usman

ISLAMABAD: Usman Wazir aka Asian Boy lamented for not getting support from Gilgit/Baltistan government for his fight in International Boxing Federation (IBF) Youth title.

In a video message, Wazir shared that he will be fighting for the IBF Youth title this year on May 22. “My dream comes true to fight for Youth title. I will be fighting for it on May 22,” the young boxer said who will be the first Pakistani to contest in this competition.

“I waited for five years and finally the time has come when I will be fighting for Youth title. I have started my preparations and this fight will be under Manny Pacquiao’s card,” he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Wazir stressed that he has been forced to take sponsors as Gilgit/Baltistan’s CM didn’t fulfil his promise to support him for this fight. “I am disappointed that the GB government hasn’t responded to me for their support in this fight,” he revealed.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to continue my traditional GB style during my fight as I have to take sponsors for this fight due to no support from the government,” he concluded.
