KARACHI: The fourth edition of the Youth League Football Tournament has been kicked off here at Karachi United Stadium on Friday.
The tournament started with an exhibition match which will be followed by round competitions from tomorrow.
As many as 62 teams in U10, U12, U14, and U16 categories are taking part in the event. 1000 young male and female footballers from Karachi will showcase their skills at different venues.
To spread the event’s circle across the city and engage football fans, few matches out of 199 will be hosted in Purana Golimar, Shireen Jinnah Colony, Malir, Baldia, Ibrahim Hyderi, and Orangi Town.
Talking to reporters prior to the start of the tournament, Karachi United (KU)’s CEO – Imran Ali said that over 2600 young footballers have been benefitted from the youth league. “For the last four years, we have facilitated thousands of young footballers and polished them to make a solid product for Pakistan. Many of our players went onto represent Pakistan,” he said.
