Why the sudden shift from ESPN regarding Shedeur Sanders being great?

Ever since the draft, ESPN has been all hyped about Shedeur Sanders. After his good first preseason game they were hyping him up to be the starter. Then he had a bad game in the 3rd preseason game and all of a sudden they’ve switched and now they don’t think he’ll start any game for the Browns this season. So what changed? Why now? Why aren’t they pushing the conspiracy theory of the Browns setting him up for failure anymore?
