Anyone here a hardcore nerd for historical boxing and wrestling in the US?

I hope this is allowed here. If not, I hope someone may be able to point me in the right direction of where to post.

I'm a hobbyist genealogist and I'm helping someone try to learn the identity of her great grandfather. This guy seemed to have been a boxer and wrestler, and gave "physical culture" demonstrations and lectures. The issue is, this name pops up all over the country. I've seen at least one other wrestler using the name at the same time who definitely wasn't the same guy.

My point is, I thought there are probably some people out there with a niche interest in the history of these sports who may have deeper knowledge of the athletes and characters, and that would be tremendously helpful. Does anyone have this interest, or know if a subreddit, website, etc. that I might try?
